The Board's Corporate Governance Principles and committee charters reflect Lighthouse Covenant International's standards as well as regulatory requirements, and they rest on a foundation of long-standing governance principles of this organization. The Board recognizes that governance principles will continue to evolve in the future and that the Board should continue to re-evaluate them from time to time in light of changing circumstances.

In 2010, Lighthouse Covenant International embarked on comprehensive governance reform to modernize the Board to focus on strategic oversight and governance.

Structure and Membership of the Board of Governors

In addition to a more clear oversight and strategic role for the Board, highlights of governance reforms include: by 2012, Board membership will range from 6 to 12, requirements for membership are now uniform and follow best practices for corporate boards, and the selection of members is accomplished through the Governance and Board Development Committee's recommendation to the full Board with final approval.
