Transform Your Mind Interactive Learning Initiative is designed by Lighthouse Covenant International.  We created this initiative around the concept of transforming one’s mind, a principle we adapted from our book, “Release the Prophetic Destiny in Philadelphia, A City Under Reconstruction” by author Maurine McFarlane.  We believe that man's nature is essentially spiritual, and therefore it is necessary to connect back to the source of our spirituality.

The Transform Your Mind Program is a very intense and concise program that demands our students full commitment to the time and work necessary to successfully complete program requirements. Transform Your Mind is designed to bring a new awareness to the issues that confront us. Society calls these issues dysfunctional. We have defined dysfunctional as: Dysfunction – Where there is a lack there is dysfunction. Where there is dysfunction, there is a lack of knowledge. Where there is a lack of knowledge, there is immaturity. Where there is immaturity, misunderstanding is unavoidable. Where there is misunderstanding, there is death in an individual spiritually. This new knowledge benefits our students by changing them, transforming them, liberating them and freeing them.

With this new knowledge there is room for an Evolutionary Jump, with a more flexible outlook and greater freedom of emotional expression, appearance of new horizons, and achievement of goals, heretofore, seeming out of reach. Problems and difficulties now become opportunities for creative choice and valuable learning, stepping-stones towards what the student really wants to achieve. Keeping in mind that transformation is a process, our students are better equipped at the time of program completion with the knowledge to begin the journey than they were before participating in this program.

Transform Your Mind Interactive Learning Initiative is a two-phase program. The first phase or building block is a fifteen (15) 3 hours a week series that will be continuous throughout the year. A very disciplined and condensed program, a condition of participation is that all participants must adhere and abide by the rules of the program. Phase Two is the second building block for the student who has completed Phase One. For those students in prison, they can continue Phase Two on the outside upon release.

What is required of students?

Program participation requires an open mind and a genuine desire to learn and expand. The major goal of Transform Your Mind Interactive Learning Initiative is to facilitate the development of self-determined people taking full responsibility in their lives. Indeed, we need to explore the unmapped territory of our minds and develop it to the full potential, if we are each to have the insight to be able to effectively cut through the restricted thinking in our environments, and to make a positive impact on what is happening to our world.

1. Physical – Once you have changed you will in return change your physical environment

2. Psychological – Identity: knowing who you are will eliminate confusion

3. Economical – A transformed mind will seek new financial and rewarding opportunities

4. Spiritual – You will once again be connected to something greater than yourself

One of Lighthouse Covenant International's strategic objectives is to invest in knowledge and partnerships. Our goal in working with partners is to broaden our reach, reduce evaluation overload, and increase opportunities for dissemination of lessons learned. Partners allow Lighthouse Covenant International to expand its frontiers in terms of experience, resources, and outreach. Partnerships involve a collaborative relationship towards mutual objectives, seeking synergies through joint endeavors. Partnering enables us to meet our assigned purpose in reducing recidivism by engaging in the following:

• Helping the people to have a productive life in the community

• Preventing them from going back into prison

• Identifying Mental Illness

This Program is not for everyone, because added to the desire to transform ones life must be the willingness to make a commitment to the process. Once that commitment is made, however, there need not be any failures; with proper support and this program, everyone can succeed. Go for it!
